Dream Walker
-
Dream Walker is an exploration of the liminal spaces between reality and the subconscious, centred around the enigmatic and surreal works of Milan Mihajlović. Known for blending the fantastical with the familiar, Mihajlović's paintings invite viewers into a world where the boundaries between waking life and dreams dissolve, offering a glimpse into the deeper, often hidden, layers of the human psyche.
In this exhibition, the "dream walker" concept serves as both a literal and metaphorical guide through Mihajlović's work. A dream walker traverses the landscapes of the mind, navigating between conscious thought and the mysteries of the unconscious. Through his intricate and evocative imagery, Mihajlović acts as a dream walker, leading viewers through surreal vistas, symbolic narratives, and ethereal atmospheres.
Dream Walker delves into the timeless human fascination with dreams and their power to reveal hidden truths, fears, and desires. Mihajlović's paintings serve as visual manifestations of this inner world, where reality is reinterpreted and reimagined through the lens of the subconscious. The exhibition invites viewers to become dream walkers themselves, navigating the delicate balance between reality and fantasy, the known and the unknown.
Through Dream Walker, Milan Mihajlović's art becomes a portal into the mysterious, often elusive realm of dreams. In this place, imagination reigns, and the deepest layers of the human experience are brought to light.

Milan Mihajlović's artistic style is deeply rooted in abstract expressionism, characterised by an intense focus on emotion, texture, and form. His works are non-representational, relying on bold, gestural brushstrokes and dynamic compositions to convey feelings and evoke contemplation. The texture is a central element in Mihajlović's paintings, as he often experiments with thick layers of paint to create surfaces that invite viewers to engage both visually and tactilely. His use of colour is expressive and varied, ranging from stark monochromes to vivid, intense hues that add emotional depth to his compositions. Mihajlović’s art often explores themes of memory, identity, and the subconscious, allowing for multiple interpretations and encouraging viewers to find personal meaning in his abstract forms. The contrast between calm and chaos within his works mirrors the complexities of human experience, making his style both intellectually and emotionally resonant.
